in bristol

Wow - can't believe that I've been here a week, though at the same time it seems to been way longer. Mainly just been a week of fun! Got here last sat - mum and me drove up with all my stuff (yes there was a lot of it) - pretty easy journey - no roadworks/jams. arrived around 11 and started unpacking. The main problem with this was that my flat is at the top of the building - 4 flights of stairs - and my bags were really heavy. One of the first things I did in my flat was bend down to see if there were electrical sockets near the desk. Then I straigtened up and hit by head HARD on a shelf corner. Really hard - and it cained - and bled. And left a nice cartoon style bruise... lovely. Met all my flatmates thoughout the day - they're all lovely - really lucky. Whats odd though is that out of the 5 of us, 4 of us come from around the same area in london, and one of the guys nxt door as well - really odd. That night was a welcome night in the bar with free pizza - yum - there was a live 'band'(since when has one guy and his guitar playing covers been a band...?) and we just sat around talking and getting to know people. Then sun there was a school disco at our bar, followed by going to a club. Now my flat and the one nxt door couldn't be bothered to dress up... so we just went to the club in normal clothes. We were planning on going to the end of the disco in the bar and catching the bus in with them... but we missed them - we started following some people in school uniform who we thought were with the main party but they were also late. We ended up getting a local bus - and overtaking all the school unform people and getting to the club first anyway! Fun night :) Monday there was a greek toga bar crawl - so we decided to be anti social and do our own thing. We went to a bar called bar humbug (see what they did there...?)which is a cocktail bar which had 2-for-1 on cocktails - and they weren't really measuring the alcohol - so we all got a little tipsy...(which resulted in my friend doing cartwheels down the street (yes i have a video :p)). After the bar closed we went out and got free drinks vouchers to another bar in town - we got about 5 between the 4 of us - but still managed to get about 2 free drinks each - i'm not complaining :p
After that bar we decided to see if we could meet up with the greek toga people - so we went to the bar/club that they were meant to be in but it was closed. We ended up getting cheesy chips and a taxi home. Next night we were slightly more social, but we didn't join in with our hall in particluar - we went to a party @ bristol academy - was hip hop - but had a good time - tried to get a UBU bus back to our halls - but didn't appear so we walked all the way, which is uphill, very uphill. At least 45 min walk. We did of course get cheesy chips again lol. Wed we decided to be a bit more social and went to the bar for kareoke. Very funny indeed.

phones and returns

So still haven't finished the rome or reading posts... but I will get round to it some time this week, or otherwise they'll probably never get done at all :( I got through my new phone today - samsung e720 I ordered from amazon... only i ordered it on the wrong network... I assumed as my last samsing phone from there was unlocked that this one would be too... no prizes for guessing that I was wrong. So I've had to arrange for it to be collected tomorrow for a refund - ARGH - so much hard work... and i'm really tired now and just can't be bothered with it all. At the moment I'm meant to be sorting out what to bring to uni... and do tv licence.... argh

11.08.05 - Still Work in progress :-S

Back again! Thought I'd update with a recount of my holiday in Rome!!! Set out Thurs 28th July - really smooth journey there - flight went well, really funny cabin crew, we got a ryan air bus from the airport and then a bus straight to the hotel - which was really easy to find :)
Just kinda had a look around near our hotel and tried to get some sleep. Our room was pretty decent - clean, not too small, it had air conditioning (as we found out the 2nd night...), and a whole two english channels(well MTV was near enough english - though naz managed to memorize one or two of the italian songs they played much to her dismay!).
On friday we decided to get the most expensive and possibly famous land mark out of the way so we went to the colosseum. We decided to go on a tour so that we wouldn't just be walking around going... hmm nice old building... and it was really impressive... Its odd to think how old it is and so much of it has survived! So took just a few pics... I'll guess I'll just add a couple on here... basically through the week I maxed out my 256mb SD card... and mostly on architechture... well its not my fault - there is an awful lot of architecture in Rome... Also with the tour of the colosseum there was a tour of the roman forum included - now that was interesting. The colosseum however grand there is not all that much that most people wouldn't already know, and the rest isn't too hard to figure out, and we could only just make out what our guide was saying. However the forum was amazing - without the guide however it would literally been a pile of old rocks... The basic picture was that the land used to be a swamp and over centuries people had bought in earth from surrounding areas so reclaim the land - so the land level rose. Couple hundred years ago archeologists excavated down to a level when rome was height of anicient civilisation. Think Ceaser etc... Basically it was really interesting... until I got sun stroke... we'd basically finished the tour but I just felt so bad. Rome was in the middle of a heat wave when we arrived - so it was a good 10*c above what we'd just come from... and i'm really fair so i have a really low sun tolarance - despite being 1/4 italian... We ended up going back to the hotel (luckily that fit in with our plan or I would have felt horrible :-S) So I slept that off and we spent the night looking round our area, getting dinner from a pizzaria (it was like italy's version of fast food/kebab shop... they cut up the pizza with scissors...hmm)... and generally chatting/gossiping etc(we're not at all good at that... lol)
Sat we went to see the trevi fountain and we did some shopping there. The fountain was lovely - really magnificent and pretty. That night we tried to go out. We'd asked a waitress in a cafe where the clubs were, and managed to get a vague idea. We went where we thought they were... and found none! we ended up sitting in a bar by the river which was really nice, apart from the waitress spoke no english at all... and couldn't even understand 'vodka' (btw its spelt the same in italian...)... so I ended up with beer because we knew how to say that... but jo persisted and thought she had a breakthough with 'ache(hmm... so can't remember how to spell it but it sounds like a-che...) which sounds pretty close to archers... as i'm sure you can guess it wasn't... it turned out to be tropical juice! lol hilarous Yeah we had fun :S
So sunday we decided to go to the vatacan - as the sistine chapel is meant to be free on the last sunday of each month - i.e the day we went. Another scorcher of a day I bought along a shirt to cover my shoulders in the hope of not getting sun burnt/stroke etc. Naz and Jo wore strappy dresses (there is a good reason that I'm mentioning this... just read on...). We decided to up to the dome without really thinking about it - we just got in this queue - which tured out to be a LOT longer than it seemed - and by the time we saw the notices about the 300 odd steps we had queued so long that we weren't going to turn back! It turned out to be 300 steps to one level - then more to the actual dome! It was amazing though! You get a really good view of, well the dome, and down into St Peters. Then - once again without much thought we decided to go up again to the basilica. Now there were a couple of problems here. The whole system is one way - so you have to go all the way up before you go down. The problems with this involve the fact that naz doesn't like heights, and jo doesn't like small steps - especially in a spiral and even worse going down. So its quite obvious that the way up (and for that matter down) involved heights, small spaces and small steps. However the view from the top was worth it (at least from my point of view - I've always quite liked heights :S)! The way down brought us into St Peters (which we *might* have got confused with the sistine chappel... but we had heard that the sistine chappel was closed - so we only missed out on what we counldn't get into anyway). It really is the most impressive building that I've ever seen. My photos don't do it any justice - not least because we were all shaking from all those steps and counldn't take a straight photo - it was so magnificent - the art everywhere is fantastic. Now comes the funny part (at least for me). The vatican has a rule on people covering up. We'd seen signs as we went in that said that you had to be covered up to enter. However as we went to the dome we unwittingly got in even though naz and jo were wearing strappy sun dresses. We were in St Peters and I'd just gone to look for something and when I came back I couldn't find naz or jo anywhere. I walked round the whole church 2-3 time (and anyone whos been there knows its not the smallest church ever...). It turns out that they'd been 'escorted' out by security for not dressing decently enough... they didn't find it that funny at the time but not many people can say that they've been chucked out of the vatican! I personally think that it would have been more funny if they'd been escorted out by the swiss guards - picture courtesy of lightmatter.com - with uniforms designed by michaelangelo they look really really funny!
So in contrast to our day we decided to go on a pul crawl in the evening. This is run by english and american people - mainly for english and american people

23/07/05

Ok so looking at the last post and realized that it was posted just before my hectic weekend last week! So had Harry Potter day at work - I was in from 7.30 - which of course was fun - for those nice eager HP people (the ones that weren't quite crazy enough to be one of the 200 that queued at midnight!)... but I actually had a really fun day - I got paid to wear a witches hat and play with balloons and magic tricks for a whole day! lol I'm just big kid really!!! And then was REM in the evening - was very good!!! Got to the gig half way though Feeder (missed the two earlier support acts Jonathan rice and Idlewild - the zutons couldn't do the rescheduled date). We managed to get slightly lost in Hyde Park... you'd have thought that such a big gig you could hear the music for ages around - turns out you can't really - and trees do a very good job of both obscuring sound and vision... lol basically we managed to walk all the way from Lancaster gate to Knightsbridge (saw the royal opera house and realized we *might* be in the wrong place lol) but we had a lot of fun - we got basically as close as we could without paying £65 for golden circle tickets! - And while I'm on the subject I'm sure the golden circle has got a LOT bigger... I've been to a couple of gigs in Hyde Park before (*coughs* PITP... embarrassed blush*) andIi swear we got much closer without being that close to the golden circle! and of course I worked on the sun as well which was much quieter than the previous day!
So this week... urm... I've been shopping a couple of time - on tue went to Oxford St... finally got a pair of aviator sunglasses, and a really cool new hat :) and got a camera... but I'm taking it back because its not good enough! lol... and drove to brent cross with Jo and Lu on thurs... which was fun... apart the drive home - I got stuck in such fun traffic on the North Circular... hmm... and the worst thing was that I know that I could have come off at the junction before the traffic began hmm...
Oh and also was V.mature and went to see Madagascar... And it was really funny... The penguins were amazing... I love kids films...Talkingg about kids and funny I went to see my sisters leaving play (can't believe that she moving into secondary school!)... and it was hilarious - she was really good but the best scene was these yr 6 kids pretending to be reception kids in a nativity scene and I was really laughing my head off... I really didn't think it would be soo funny!
So that's about it for now! - I should be going to Italy on thurs with naz and jo which will just be so much fun!!!

11.07.05

Finished Exams!!!!! yey.... bit late celebrating on here considering I've been finished 2 weeks tomorrow... ooops? so what have i been doing in my now blissfully free of work and revision time? well actually not all that much... :-S truthfully the first week i was off was a whirlwind, then last week I hardly did anything! I had my last exam (chem synoptic) on tue 28th in the morn and it surprisingly wasn't too bad (i say that now but just wait till the results come out)... then went to starbucks for coffee and cake (and just so you all know starbucks do really good carrot cake lol) then in the evening we went out clubbing... had such a good time... we went to the Roxy Bar at the top of oxford st and it was funny because half the people there were from woodhouse! they play really good music and the drinks aren't too expensive! we left when it closed (3.00) and got a night bus (which stops at the end of my road which is great) and got home about 4. Which was weird because it was already light and the birds were waking up (argh)... also funny (in only the knid of "looking back on it now" kinda funny) was that I'd been awake for at least 22 hours that day - which was never really thought about before... The next day had to go into college to give textbooks back in, collect yearbook etc. We were meant to be in between 2 and 4... and i got there at 3.58... which gave me lots of time. lol it was the buses fault (in the sense that i didn't get it as early as i should...)... i didn't drive because i thought that we were all going to the pub like the last day before the exams... and we did... for about 1/2 hr... there wern't that many people there and a lot of my group still had an exam the day after... Then thursday college people were going to roller disco, and county people were kinda meant to be going as well... but county lot and me decided that we didn't want to go (i'd already been out that week and it cost £10 to get in and i was feeling cheep...) so we stayed at the pub and had a *bit* to drink (lets put it in simple maths... we went through at least 8 pitchers between 7 people... and some people had up to 8 shots(mixing tequila and sambuka) and there was chamagne around.... lol) we left when they closed... we had such a good time, such a good laugh!
I think i stayed in on the fri, and went back to the pub on the sat night... worked both sat and sun, as i did this week. Tiring! on sat did a big clearup of the downstairs till... in prep for HP6 next week... not doing the midnight opening because the rota changed :( but its worked out well because i'm doing a 7.30-4 shift which means that i can go the the REM gig in hyde park!!!!! yey love REM.
Today had a big picnic in the park for sasha's bday. It was a kinda surprise (as is she thought only a few people were going but there were about 20 of us) . had such a good time.... just being really imature... played stuck in the mud, duck duck goose, played in the playground (made some friends with some little kids... who were propably more mature than us) and ate SO much - and most of it was junk lol so hot though and i think i have mild heat stroke (not that thats stopped me from writing an absolute essay here.... lol)
so thats me at the moment... just having a relaxing few days before it goes wild at the weekend with HP6, REM and working sun as well!!!

God bless all those who lost their lives in the bombings last thurs, and all those who survived. I hope that justice is served to those cowards who took so many innocent lives. London will remain strong.

15.06.05

So there's not actually much to write about at the moment. I'm kinda stuck in a little revision/exam rut at the moment. I've had 6 exams (4 were retakes - so i've done all my retakes now!!!) and I have 7 to go - argh so many (i don't have the most... a friend of mine has about 22... crazy...) and jo only has 4... that is so mean... i suppose she's already had a 10 hr art exam... but thats just not the point is it?
Havn't really been doing all that much - done some revision, worked on sat, went up to Cambridge for nan's and anna's birthdays on sunday - that was a lot of fun! I can't believe that Anna's already a year old! she is the cutest thing you could ever see... and such a happy baby! much more cuddly than her brother ever was - though he really was just as cute! lol
went to ikea on tue with my mum... to buy a new side table thing for the TV... we didn't end up with it - as 'beech' now must be a synonym for bright orange. that store is so crazy... its designed as a maze - all their stores are the same - but with little suttle structorial changes that have been put there so that you can't find a anything. They do helpfully provide you with a store map (and pencil - i like their pencils... that would be a plus point for the store...) which just tells you that you're on the wrong floor... argh crazy... and i'm convinced that they've got their own sense of time in that store - hours go past without you knowing... and the names are funny - however they want people london accents to pronouce sweedish names (those funny o's always get me...) i don't know! lol... basically we ended up coming out without the orange/beech tv bench, but with another table that we needed that the website had said was out of stock lol. oh and i got a lamp - its really cool - in spite of their maze-like stores and unpronoucable names they do have some fun stuff - i love all their lighting... such fun!
well i have rambled on for long enough tonight considering that i have basically done nothing worth mentioning in the last week... lol

07.06.05

argh... just been revising chem unit 2 for my resit 2moz... i printed off the specification paper from the edexcel website and did it... its meant to be an hour long but i finished and marked it in under an hour... hopefully it goes as well tomorrow! i'm convinced that the mach scheme was wrong for one of the questions though! really utterly convinced! lol... had another retake today - m1... i think it went really well (though it was the one i did best in last year... just statistics is so dire that i need to push up the marks anywhere i can!) - so maybe other exams will follow suit - like s1 on thurs - thats unlikely to as i've done NOWHERE near enough revision for it. I find it really hard to revise (and for that matter learn) as my brain just doesn't want to deal with large amouts of collective data and find means, medians, and ranges and then have to draw all sorts of graphs (which i've never liked) and get more information out of that... I really want to learn it and get better but the subconcocius part of my brain has put a mental block on it. :( basically just don't like it.
So last week was half term... in which i planned to do the most revision ever... and urm... didn't. I worked monday, sorted out tax (yey getting £400 back!) and did about 1/2 hr revision, went to the gym, did the same on wed, then decided to get into it on thurs... actually did loads of revision (though how much statistics actually went into my head is debatable). Then on friday i went shopping :) now that was fun! Jigna, sarah and I went to Camden... and had a lot of fun... bought a really cool beatles bag, (and another cheap pretty bag), some posters (jonny depp... yum... and pulp fiction... really cool) and had noodles in a proper noodle box for lunch - you know the kind of boxes that they always have on american tv shows - though if you get chinese/indian/thai takeaways in this country they always seem to be in much less glam tin foil cartons... so cheep tasty noodles very well contained! lol and of course we had to stop off at starbucks (its a tradition). Then we went up to leister sq - looking for cheap theatre tickets. To cut a long story short we didn't find the ones we were looking for - and sarah went home to revise - but me and jigna planned to spend some more time on oxford street, stopping off a pub on the way. What we did figure out though is that weathspoons pubs, while amazingly cheap, arn
t that imagnative in name - having the same name in leister sq as one of my locals...lol
So over wine we decided to get tickets to another show that sarah hadn't wanted to see - chicago! and before the show we stilll managed to get an hr or so of oxford street shopping in (meaning we spent a lot less time than we usually would in topshop/H&M!) and had dinner (when we realised that after finishing our meal we had 1/2 hr to make it to the theatre!). The show was brilliant - brooke sheilds played roxie... and was really good! velma and billy were amazing though - had such a good time!!!!!
Worked sat, revised sun, revised mon, exam today, exam tomorrow, exam thurs, revise fri, work sat, nan and anna's b-days on sun... argh - so much revision to do - all over in 3 weeks tho... argh i can't wait!

28.05.05

argh.... crazy busy i've been! revising for exams, but i'll come to that in a minute, school work, everything! i guess it must have been about a month since i've posted.... and its mostly been a whirlwind blur! they seem to have taken the month before study leave to cram everything in! we were still learing new theory in computing up until the penutumate lesson (hmm... is it only me that doesn't sound right to...) and had so many mocks for both chem and computing... and did LOADS of past papers for maths! argh so hard/annoying/boring/why? We finished last fri and it was so weird - just so many people that i'm going to miss :( people that i talk to a lot in lessons and stuff, but i know we're not close enough to meet up over summer... though i think just about everyone has messenger... so when i have enough energy to talk to everyone i can (is that bad that mostly i just can't be bothered to talk to most people... oops?) after college (we finished at 12.45) most of my year ended up at tally ho - a cheep pub nearby... and considering my year has 400-500 students... you can guess that there might have been a *few* people there!!!! we had so much fun!!!!... so many of us were there and we stayed for ages (6 hrs....) and just had a really good time... it was a perfect ending! and we all plan to do the same thing on leavers afternoon (29th june.... can't believe that it will all be over by then!!!)... and we have the summer social if we remember to get tix... and we're going out after that so i'll see quite a few people there i guess... i'm still going to miss people though... everyone was signing everyone elses books and some of my messages are soooo sweet! great way to remember people!
So that was friday - and i honestly really didn't mean to stay for that long... but the weather was so gorgous that i just couldn't leave!!! but the reason that i was going to was that i had 2 maths exams on the following monday... so i did try to do some revision that night but i got about 1/2 hr of not-all-that-useful revision done and then left it! was revising all sun... and then had both 1hr30 exams on mon morn (with 5 mins inbetween - what exam board thinks it a good idea to put two of their *own* exams on at the same time... you need to figure it out edexcel...)... which went... well ok... i'm not really sure... i don't think i've done badly... but i don't think that i've done amazingly... which i guess is ok... i have 4 more maths exams to make up for it( the mon exams consisted of 1 retake and 1 this year module... i have 2 more resits and 2 more modules from this year). Then on thurs i had a chem practical... which i think went pretty well... i was in "isolation" for a couple hrs until my exam started... basically there are not enough spaces in the chem labs for all the chem students to the exam together so they have 2 lots of students on the first day and 2 lots on the second. I was in the 2nd lot on the first day... i say isolation but there were about 20 of us in the 'isolation' room... we ended up mainly playing cards! quite a few people were revising, but i couldn't see what help that was going to be - in the practical you get to take all your notes in with you - so its more about observation and analysis than pure knowledge. i felt that for me, revising would only get me nervous and agitated! which would not be the best idea. In the end i feel i did quite well... everyone was getting the same answers when we spoke after! apart from i really didn't remember that that brown/white colour was 'buff' (yes thats actually a name of a colour...)... damn... i just couldn't figure it out!!!! lol but apart from that i feel that it went ok. So only another 4 chem exams (3 this year 1 resit) to go... as well as 2 computing exams... argh i should be busy revising!
Later on thurs i went to jignas with sarah... we had dinner (noodles - yum! (great source that you *made*)) then went to the college art exhibition... it was SO good... it made me realise why(again) that i didn't take art further than GCSE... the ideas and of course that actual work was so astounding! i really wanted to steal most of the work there! we went back to jigna's after and watched 'you've got mail'... mainly because both of us forgot to tape star wars last week! but all three of us have watched it so many times that sarah was happily quoting most of lines(whiles telling us that it was "my favourite bit" every five minutes) and we did end up having a popcorn fight (that was the 2nd (large) batch of popcorn i should really add)... what we did figure out was that the DVD had the most pointless extra in it... we really counldn't figure out why it was there - a music only version of the film. That means that they show the same graphics, with just music, no dialogue over it... which not only means that you'd sit there trying to lip read (unless you're sarah and know all the lines) but when they would have voiceovers it was completey pointless... that must be one of the biggest mysteries that i've ever come accross... lol
Then on fri jo came round to mine and we did... well just about nothing... the weather was so good and we just realaxed all day! watched a peter kay DVD (that guy is so funny... i'm in stiches every time i watch his standup... and ricky gervais... and bill bailey... and a good few others lol) and bb later... who else found it incredibly ironic and funny that the only person that didn't realise that the 2nd door was to be pushed and wouldn't open automatically was the psychic... and she actually described herself as very intelligent... and her eyes were scary! but bb has basically again tried to choose people that are obv not going to get along on principal - and the looks that they were already giving each other as they entered the house was jsut funny... however after that little rant i don't think i'll end up watching that much of this series... lol
so that basically sums the past week or so up... worked today and will be working bank hol on mon (double pay yey!) and going shopping on fri (i havn't been in sooo long - lol retail withdrawal) but apart from that i will be revising - yey... what a fun time i have until my next exam (7th june...)

29.04.05

i passed my driving test! 3rd time lucky...! :) its really good... driving into college now... makes the mornings a lot less hassle... i've been getting up at the same time... and leaving fairly early... coz i don't want to have to rush. I have to admit that my driving isn't all that great. I think i'm seeing things about my driving that i didn't see before. Thats one thing I don't like about driving by myself... I critisise myself too much! lol... its good being able to drop other plp off... instead of just having to keep asking plp for lifts! lol thanks btw!
And i have trouble parking... they really don't teach you to park... you think they do but they don't. I think that they should teach you that... maybe not to be tested... but real life parking! lol
Am out tonight for a friend's birthday... going to the oxygen bar in leister sq. - the only place in London that is licenced to sell pure oxygen... sounds interesting! Working tomorrow - so going to be very tired! lol and a few friends are coming over after work... going to to some baking (i'll probably be the least help)... one of my friends is famed for her baking... i have NEVER tasted better cookies and I doubt i ever will (they're even better than the M&S freshly baked ones...!)
So that will be a fun (if tiring) night!... will have to catch up on sleep on sun... even tho i've got to do h/w... as i'm working monday as well. How comes they only predict nice weather for the days that i work... it must be a conspiricy! lol

18.04.05

So i officially have a problem with revision... i've never liked it... i just thought i'd make it official!... just spent 45mins/1hr on P1 revision... which didn't make my headache go away... i just love relearning all that stuff... and thats only the start. As well as P1 i'm retaking M1 and S1... and theres also the P2, P3 and M2 from this year... at least i don't go up to P6 like some crazy further maths students i know... lol
Havn't really been up to much in the past week. Spent most of the time just doing work. Have had a couple of driving lessons as i've have (another) test coming up. I do admit to not telling any1 when it is... and possibly lying on that subject... i'm sorry... i'll tell you all the truth... (if/when i pass?). Went out to the pub on friday again... its really nice to catch up with all my old school lot. Its starting to hit me that i've only got a few weeks of college left before i leave all my woodhouse lot, and then there's the exams... then a major long summer (where you always plan to meet up with everyone... but spend more time asleep) and then all off to different parts of the country(world?) for unis and gap years. Its quite sad really. I've made such good friends at woodhouse that i don't want to loose touch with them. But as i've seen when i moved from county its really hard to keep in touch with even the closest of m8s. Everyone's lives are so hectic just with work and different time tables that its hard to keep up! So meeting up with county people is good - just need to make sure that we all don't loose touch by sept/oct...
Worked sat... was quite odd - there were 10 plp in... when we usually have about 6 and there wasn't that much to do... the few books that needed to come out were out in the 1st hr(usually can take most of the day) then we were lucky that it started getting busy because otherwise there would have been people standing around! as it was i reorganised the whole of the computing section (the "order" wasn't quite what it should be... lol)!
We babysat james on sun... so i use that as an excuse to why i didn't get all that much work done... i just 'had' to watch a bug's life with him... right? and then we had a big family dinner so that took a couple of hours (and had to finish watching finding nemo with james...) so took a while... its a valid excuse right?

11.04.05 Recap on easter hols

So didn't quite manage/remember to post whilst on holiday, or actually since i've been back. Holidays were pretty hectic! Obv went to brussels in the first week. Had so much fun! Really cool just 2 b let loose in a city w/ ur best m8... and even better wen you both have an affinity for shopping, cheap wine and mozzerella (for those who arn't me or naz these things are seperate...)
Naz's performance was amazing. The theatre itself (see below) was spectuacular. The set was... well interesting... loads of moving blocks... if you havn't seen it you won't understand it! lol. Now the actual opera was also really good... especially the bits that i understood! lol just not used 2 listning to opera...! So well done naz and ravi - you rule!
Below are some of the pictures that snap-happy me ended up taking!

Grand Place - Brussels Posted by Hello
Came back on a wed night. Went to a Razorlight gig on the thurs night. Up at Alexandra Palace.. was really good. The band were amazing live, and the atmosphere was brilliant. Though there were some downsides... like getting out once it had finished... One very thin door open to let every1 out by... not the best idea!
Then did 'some' work on the fri... cleared up my room a bit... which has now gotten even worse... oops?
Went to work and then to jigna's party on the sat... once again just had a wkd time! Happy birthdat to jigna! That was the day that the clocks went forward. So left there at 2am new time... and got up at 6.30am new time to go to turkey with my family! and i can't sleep (or for that matter eat) on planes ("i don't like food at altitude")... so was a bit tired/grumpy when we got there lol! Our rooms were amazing... (see the pictures below) and the hotel was lovely (5* (though that counts less over there... but still !)) - basically its main feature had to be the food - all you can eat buffet... and the food was sooooo tempting! So nice... but there wasn't ne lunch... so we had 2 sneak pastries out of breakfast... lol
On the thurs we went on a excursion... to aspendos - an ancient theatre and perge - an ancient city. Our guide was also an archeologist, so he made the tours very interesting. Ended up with a short visit to a waterfall in antalya... pictures below!
So basically spent most of my time, sleeping, eating and reading by the pool (i never went into the outside pool like my sanity-questionable sisters (it was about 11*c...)!

So came back on the sun (with even less sleep than on the way out if thats poss...) and was bk 2 college on the mon... week passed fairly quickly... loads of "fun" work... went to the pub on fri, met up with county lot, had fun... worked sat, then went up to see family in cambridge...and had a really short day today because of L6 having H.E talks... so i finished at 10.40... mia drove us 2 the gym(no its not that far and yes it is slightly ironic).. came home... started this blog... had a driving lesson... came back... played with messenger... carried on with this blog... had dinner... and i'm just finishing it now (19.05...) about to go to guitar... and maybe i'll even do some maths work when i get home. do i even have math hw?

3/3/05

Been a while since i've posted... mainly because I've been so busy!!!! handed in my computing c/w last tue... was hell... i did mainly non stop from the prev thurs to the following monday(tho i worked sat)... and i stayed up till 3am on mon(tho i suppose it was tue) and woke up on tue at 8 and started it again... it just took so long... and don't think all the alternative designs were there... oops? well mine came out as 236 pages.... and that was short.... i think the largest was just shy of 1000 (no names mentioned...) crazy!
So now have had to catch up on all the work that i didn't do for maths and chem because of the computing... argh its so non stop at the mo! i have to do so much work... and i really need to start revising, because i need to get ABB at the end of the yr... and with maths and chem the way they are i'm gunna need all the help i can to pass them... so i have 2 weeks until the easter holidays - a week before some of my friends and my sisters because my college is in a different borough... has worked out ok through because I get to go and see my friend sing in Brussels. I'm going for 3 days, got a nice deal on eurostar - and whenever i look up Brussels' travel guides they seem to cite beer as the main atraction to the city... lol... i was thinking quite a lot about those belgium chocolates as well...! so that should be fun. And i come back, have the postponed razorlight gig the night after... have a night in after that(at the mo... i'm sure i'll fins somewhere to go out on a fri...) work and my friends 18th on the sat then i'm off to Turkey with my family on easter sunday.... so slightly busy... and to top it all off my college asked me to make a realistic revision study guide for the holidays... hmm.... they wouldn't like mine....!
And so back to the next few weeks. I'm going to a party on sat thats a kind of surprise party for about 3/4 people.... should be a lot of fun, then next wed i'm going to the donna's gig.... and i have a day off on the wed so we might go out on tue night.... busy busy busy!
how am i going to cope? lol

07/02/05 v.2

So that nice manic weekend has come and gone... shows really how much time can fly! I had a lot of fun over the weekend, but now need to catch up on everything! so crazy at the moment. Computing is the worst. I have the last part of my c/w in tomorrow (a draft) then until the 22nd to finish it! crazy... but it should b ok.... there are a lot of tedious bits that i only partially did, beause.... well they were teidous. so now i have to do them. which isn't the most fun prospect in the world... lol
i think i'm going to go to bed now... because i'm so sleepy!

guilty - from amelie

is it a sin
is it a crime
loving you dear like i do
if its a crime then i'm guilty
guilty of loving you

maybe i'm wrong, dreaming of you
dreaming the lonely night through
if its a crime then i'm guilty
guilty of dreaming of you

what can i do, what can i say
after i've taken the blame
you'll say you'll through
you'll go your way
but i'll always feel just the same

maybe i'm right, maybe i'm wrong
loving you dear like I do
if its a crime then i'm guilty
guilty of loving you

13.1.05

you know those days when things just feel slightly wrong... i got my marks back from the maths resit i did and i only gained 4 marks... not good... its depressing because i know that i should have done better... and i got back the results from my p2 mock... only 41% - an E. So i have to go to extra classes... but then again so do the rest of my class apart from 2 people... just had a long discussion with my mum and we kinda discussed all of it and we talked about how i don't seem to be putting as much effort into my work this year as i did last... and its true... i never meant to, but I have slacked... I spend too much time trying to avoid work rather than get it over with... I also need to get organised, my folders are a mess... i can't learn from them as i can't find which piece of work is relevant. I know i need to do more - i just have to stop myself from slacking - not easy. But i know i worked so hard last year and its given me such good offers from different uni's... especially Bristol who lowered their standard grade for my offer. And I really want to go there... I need ABB, which, if i work hard, should be very obtainable. But its not all that good at the moment.
I also need to work on getting a bit fitter and loosing a bit of the xmas weight. Its not that i'm greatly unhappy with my body... there's just a little bit of extra padding that i want to go, and also build up some stamina again. I used to do so much sport in secondary school, swimming, kickboxing, netball, p.e... and now all i keep up is kickboxin and going to the gym... it just needs to be a bit more.
Things just seem complicated at the moment... i don't seem to be doing enough for the time that i spend on anything... i haven't been out with friends for a while, and i really want to get out... but now know that i need to concentrate solely on work for a while... ARGH... like my 2 best friends came round today and i hadn't seen them for so long... its just such a shame... i really miss them! and at college there just seems to be less people around than last yr - every1s timetables are so different that there's always a catch when trying to meet up....
AND i really need to get more sleep.... goodnight after that rant
